Puppy Teething - how to survive this difficult time

Tooth replacement is a natural process that can last from several months to a year, depending on the breed of dog.
During the period of tooth replacement, puppies love to chew on things. This helps them soothe the pain and itching of their gums. To survive this period, it is best to buy a large number of pullers, teethers and other toys that support teething. For example, buying a rubber bone that massages the gums.
Such toys should only be given under the supervision of the guardian, as it may happen that the puppy bites off part of the toy and swallows it.
The puppy can also find objects to play on its own. Often its targets are furniture, shoes or clothes. Puppies also like to bite the hands of their owners. They should be discouraged from doing so and given toys that are intended for chewing instead.
During the period of tooth replacement, we sometimes find them in various places on the floor. The puppy eats some of its teeth on its own, which is nothing to worry about. Your puppy may also drool excessively, which is a normal body reaction to this process. However, it is worth monitoring their oral health and making sure there are no infections or inflammations.
Some puppies may have a reduced appetite during tooth replacement due to oral discomfort. Provide them with tasty, easy-to-chew foods to encourage them to eat.
If you have any concerns about replacing your puppy's teeth, consult your vet. Your veterinarian may perform an examination of mouth and teeth of your dog to make sure the tooth replacement process is going well.
