The DogHeart website uses browser storage mechanisms (localStorage and cookies) solely to ensure proper website functionality and save your preferences.

Important: All data is stored exclusively on your device, except for Google Analytics data (if you have given consent), which is sent to Google for website traffic analysis.

2. What data do we store locally?

2.1. Cookies

  • theme - stores your theme preferences (light/dark). Used to maintain your chosen appearance between visits.

2.2. localStorage Data

  • cookie_consent - stores information about your cookie decision (accepted/rejected)
  • analytics_consent - stores information about your Google Analytics decision (accepted/rejected)
  • theme - copy of theme preferences (synchronized with cookie)
  • state - DogHeart game state (progress, collected hearts, achievements, upgrades). Data is encrypted.

2.3. Google Analytics

If you have consented to analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous data about website usage. Google Analytics may set the following cookies:

  • _ga - used to distinguish users (validity: 2 years)
  • _ga_* - used to maintain session state (validity: 2 years)
  • _gid - used to distinguish users (validity: 24 hours)

3. Purpose of Data Storage

Stored data is used to:

4. How to manage data?

4.1. Through our website

You can delete data stored by our website at any time:

5. Consequences of Deleting Data

Deleting data stored by the website will result in:

  • Loss of game progress - all collected hearts, achievements, and upgrades will be lost
  • Theme reset to default (light)
  • Cookie banner will be displayed again

6. Data Security

Game state is stored in encrypted form. Game data never leaves your browser and is not sent to any external server. Data collected by Google Analytics (if you have given consent) is sent to Google according to their privacy policy.
